My musical journey began at the age of thirteen, playing snare drum in the junior high band of Sparta Elementary School in Sparta, North Carolina. Shortly thereafter, I attended my first rock concert – an experience that was truly inspiring - and it made me realize I wanted a full drum set of my own. It took some begging, but I eventually convinced my father to buy it for me. I immediately began learning my favorite songs of the time and very soon realized I had discovered my natural talent. The thrill of playing those songs lit a fire inside me that still burns very passionately to this day. Throughout high school I participated in the marching band where I was percussion captain for three years, eventually winning the John Phillip Sousa Award. I played drum set in the high school jazz band and snare drum, bass drum, vibraphone, chimes, timpani, and all other orchestral percussion in the high school band. In addition, I played drums for many local rock bands during those years, learning and performing many of my favorite cover songs. I began my undergraduate studies at Berklee College of Music in the fall of 1996, where I studied under some of the finest teachers in the world today. My Berklee experience provided me with the opportunity to learn Afro-Cuban and Brazilian styles not only on the drum set, but also on hand percussion and vibraphone from teachers such as Ed Uribe, Ernesto Diaz, and Victor Mendoza. Being the son of third generation farmer, and from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, I had never been exposed to that style of music before. Definitely some musical challenges I had to overcome to say the least. The private instruction I received from John Ramsay, Jon Hazilla, Ron Savage, Ed Kaspik and my favorite drummer, Dave DiCenso, really developed my funk, swing, linear, polyrhythmic, and double-bass drumming. Throughout my years at Berklee, I performed all around the northeast with some phenomenal musicians in a number of bands that differed stylistically. The most distinguished of those bands was a progressive rock project, "The Don Lappin Group." The project included Berklee faculty members Don Lappin and Joe Musella from the guitar department. Many great gigs and experiences came from that wonderful opportunity, including being hired by Berklee College of Music to play drums for Don Lappin’s ensemble during the 1999 Berklee Guitar Sessions. During my final semester, I learned Alan Dawson’s Rudiment Ritual in eight weeks; which I think still remains the record in John Ramsay’s private instruction ( no life, right..LOL ). On August 13th of that year, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a BM in music performance. In 2000, I was accepted to the University of Denver’s Lamont School of music as a graduate student and candidate for an MA in music theory. I was also a teaching assistant in music theory and ear training. However, after only one semester of graduate studies, an opportunity presented itself and in January of 2001, I decided to move to Nashville, TN. I spent the first two years in Nashville playing local honky tonks, clubs, and bars while networking continually. Gradually, I met those who were well-enough connected to help me reach my ultimate goal - performing and touring with a national act. I met a wonderful guitarist by the name of Gary Tackett, who, at the time, was the band leader for a new Mercury recording artist named Billy Currington. Gary heard my playing and asked if I would be interested in the project. After auditioning for Billy, I got the gig. Since then, I've had the great fortune of performing numerous times with Billy at the highly prestigious Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium. Our television performances included: The Grand Ole Opry Live on GAC, CMT’s Most Wanted Live, The CBS Saturday Morning Show and PBS’ Soundstage in Chicago, IL, Grand Ole Opry Benefit for Hurricane Katrina, The Tonight Show and The Martha Stewart Show. We also enjoyed a slot on the “Time Well Wasted Tour” with Brad Paisley and Sara Evans. Billy’s self-titled debut album was released in September of 2003, and produced two top-ten hits on the Country Billboard Chart - “Walk a Little Straighter,” which reached number 8, and the smash hit, “I Got a Feelin,” which peaked at number 5. Moreover, during the summer of 2004, Billy was asked by world-renowned producer, Mutt Lange, to record a duet with international superstar, Shania Twain. The song, entitled “Party for Two,” was released in September of that year and was a top-ten hit. Consequently, Billy and Shania were nominated for the CMA ‘Vocal Event of the Year’ in 2005. Billy’s sophomore album, “Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” reached Platinum status and produced two #1 singles including, “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” and “Good Directions”. In November of 2006, I became the drummer for Arista Nashville recording artist Jason Michael Carroll. His critically acclaimed debut album, “Waitin’ in the Country,” was released in February of the following year. The debut single, “Alyssa Lies,” was the fastest rising single by a new male country artist in 15 years, peaking at #5 on the Country Billboard Chart. The follow-up single, “Livin’ Our Love Song,” also was a top-five hit, and, “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead,” broke the top-20 and became a theme song for the summer of 2008. During my time with Jason, I performed at festivals, fairs, clubs, theaters and arenas all across the United States and Canada with the hottest country stars of today, including George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, and Montgomery Gentry. Our live performances created a tremendous buzz within the Arista label, on music row, and among our fellow artists and musicians. After some time off from touring and healing from some repetitive use issues, I was accepted into the Contemporary Performance Master's program at Berklee College of Music-Valencia. Some family issues brought me back home to the States and I have been focused on teaching privately. I have extensive live performing experience in virtually every setting imaginable and have studied under some of THE best teachers in the world. I truly believe I have laid a great foundation to help teach and inspire up and coming drummers of all levels to reach their maximum potential. With my background and experience as a professional musician, I believe my credentials and experience make me a very desirable drum instructor. I have been a drummer for twenty years and have toured professionally for seven years. Having toured with national recording artists Billy Currington and Jason Michael Carroll, I have been exposed to a number of aspects in the music world. My performances live on numerous high profile television shows, and at arenas, theaters, clubs, honky tonks, fairs, and festivals all across the United States demonstrate my capability to meet challenges presented to me. Also, my education in music performance from Berklee has allowed me to be versed in almost every style of music, and my education from being on the road has allowed me to learn the different nuances of people. Thank you for your time and consideration. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you... Joseph

Hi. My name is Don O'Keefe. I am a registered Music Together teacher and the director of Music Together of Greater Danbury, LLC. Music Together is an international music and movement program for children from birth through 8 years, and the adults who love them. The program has been around for over 25 years and I have been teaching and directing it for the past 12. My father was a drummer and thanks to him I have been playing drums and percussion all of my life. I studied performance and professional music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in the early 80's. My time at Berklee was instrumental in my development as a drummer, professional musician and teacher. I have performed professionally with a variety of bands both live and in studios. My recording experience includes records at The Hit Factory and The Manhattan Center Studios in New York City. Some of the many notable musicians I have worked with include: Joan Osborne, Dave Rosenthal, Eileen Ivers, Geoffrey Blythe and Thomas Hamlin. I performed with The Pat McGuire Band for over 15 years, playing extensively along the East Coast including an appearance on national TV on the Late Night with Conan O’Brian Show. While playing with Pat we opened for the likes of, The Band, Squeeze, Tower of Power, The Pogues, Black 47, Joan Osborne and Mary Black. I was fortunate to study privately for a summer with one of my childhood idols, Joe Morrello, from the Dave Brubeck Band. Joe was one of the preeminent masters of technique and what I learned from him that summer I pass on to my students to this day. I currently live in Brookfield, CT with my wife and 2 kids and teach privately as well as playing in some local bands and orchestras. I believe that every drummer, teacher and student alike, has a unique voice to offer to the drum community. Anyone willing to put in the time, can, with the proper guidance become proficient at the drums. If I can do it, you can too. I would love the opportunity to help you on your musical journey. I am offering a complimentary 1st lesson and evaluation of 30 minutes or you can take advantage of an initial 60 minute lesson for the cost of 1/2 hour. Either one can be done in person or online. It is also possible for local students to have me come to their home for an additional cost if the schedule permits.

Eric Blume's 35 years of drumming has inspired many students and fans. Eric is currently teaching online and in Sunbury Ohio. I started playing drums when I was about 10 years old. My two best friends were guitar players and they needed a drummer so I figured, why not. At the age of 15, I was fortunate enough to get a job at the Columbus Percussion Center working for Jim Rupp. I took lessons from Peter Retzlof and I am very thankful to both of them for that experience. After a few years of college I was playing with some bands in the local clubs around the Ohio State University campus. For the next 10 years I played virtually every night of the week with various local artists. The music ranged from rock, metal, funk, soul, blues, jazz, jam bands, singer songwriters, rockabilly, western swing etc. In 2004 I was working with Teeny Tucker and we took third place at the International Blues Challenge. 2007 I returned to Memphis with The Sean Carney Band and we took first place. This event is held annually by the Blues Foundation. During the period between 2005 and 2010 I was fortunate enough to make 12 tours in Europe as well as tours in Canada, Mexico and South America. I have played many of the world's most prestigious blues festivals. I've performed with Ray Fuller, Willie Pooch, Teeny Tucker, Big Joe Duskin, Joe Weaver, Wendy Dewitt, Wilbert Longmire, Gene Walker, Guitar Shorty, Eddie “The Chief” Clearwater, Robin Rogers and many others. It was an honor to play with some of the world's greatest blues artists and I'm very thankful for the experience. Looking forward to meeting all of you. Many Thanks
