Tight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drumeo.com\/beat\/double-stroke-roll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">double stroke<\/a> technique and a good grasp of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drumeo.com\/beat\/single-paradiddle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">paradiddle<\/a> will help you nail the transitions between the note that falls on the \u2018a\u2019 and the grace note before the final flam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start by practicing the single stroke five. But you shouldn\u2019t go click-free for long. Don\u2019t just say \u201cit\u2019s good enough\u201d. Make sure you practice starting with your left hand too. Try to set up a practice pad and a snare stand in front of a full length mirror if you can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll be able to notice if you\u2019re gripping your sticks too hard, or if your stick height doesn\u2019t look right. Use your reflection as a window into how you\u2019re doing. If you\u2019re a more advanced drummer, you could even challenge yourself to break up the sticking between your hands and feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What&#8217;s next?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The flamacue is just one of many rudiments that\u2019ll give you more creative ideas and control, and it\u2019ll challenge you to combine several skills you already know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With enough solid practice, you should start feeling more confident in your playing. If you can get comfortable with all 40 rudiments, you\u2019ll be able to do virtually anything on the drums. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try learning the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drumeo.com\/beat\/pataflafla\/\"
