Hit Like A Girl<\/a>, the international drum contest for female drummers, is starting on March 1st — and at Drumeo, we\u2019re so proud to be sponsoring the event that spotlights female drummers\/percussionists and encourages lifelong musicianship for girls and women, regardless of age or playing level.<\/p>\n In its seventh year, Hit Like A Girl has empowered more females to become players — giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills with a 3-minute drumming video and receive feedback from celebrity judges including Emmanuelle Caplette, Hannah Welton, Yissy Garcia, Collette Williams, Peter Erskine, Kaz Rodriguez, Dom Famularo, and Aaron Spears.<\/p>\n \u201cTake a look at bands, orchestras, drum lines, drum schools, drum media, drum festivals around the world and you\u2019ll see a huge increase in the quantity, quality and influence of female drummers,\u201d says Hit Like A Girl co-founder David Levine. \u201cThe companies sponsoring Hit Like A Girl are the companies that are supporting the growth of female drumming.\u201d<\/p>\n All female amateur drummers, percussionists, and programmers are encouraged to participate. Solos, covers, or gigs are all fair game.
