He won the 2011 MacArthur Fellowship Award, the \u201cUp &amp; Coming Musician of the Year\u201d by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2006, and earned Grammy Award Nominations for \u201cBest Latin Jazz Album\u201d and \u201cBest New Artist\u201d in 2007. Dafnis has conducted numerous master classes, clinics, and workshops throughout the world.
