Every drummer is unique, just as every tree is different from one another, but our ability to succeed relies on each of us having a solid foundation. This is the one thing all successful drummers have in common.

Now, that doesn’t mean every successful drummer starts with a solid foundation. I’ve known countless drummers who spent years trying to find a shortcut to success by skipping foundational concepts along the way. This invariably causes them to reach a ceiling with their drumming. Just as a tree can’t continue to grow if it has weak roots, they can’t progress to the next level until they take the time to improve their foundation.

With this in mind, it’s never too late to establish a solid foundation – that’s why my Successful Drumming™ training pack was designed for drummers of all skill levels. We can only continue to grow and improve based on how well we understand, appreciate, and apply foundational ideas.

As you can see in the visual representation of The Drumming Tree™ below, certain concepts are laid out in the roots and trunk of the tree. Keep in mind this diagram is part of an analogy, so the labels on the tree aren’t an exact road map.

You won’t necessarily master these concepts on the first pass. That isn’t how this works, just as a tree doesn’t fully develop its roots and trunk before sprouting a single leaf. Instead, the goal is to establish a solid foundation that you can continue to build upon over time. In fact, as you move on to more challenging lessons, your foundation will naturally strengthen as a result of applying the concepts! That’s why each section includes specific goals in the form of a progress report, so you know when your foundation is strong enough to move on. That’s really what this is all about.

With so much information and advice available to drummers today, it’s difficult to know what’s important, what to do next, and when you’re ready to move on. With Successful Drumming™ you’ll know exactly where to get started, when you’re ready to move on, and what to do next in order to achieve your unique drumming goals.

Successful Drumming™ wasn’t created to be an all-in-one program that includes everything there is to know about drumming. Instead, it was created to give you a solid foundation and a clear sense of direction moving forward. Once you’ve completed the lessons in this training pack, you’ll have the knowledge, confidence, and musical abilities to achieve absolutely anything on the drums. This is your road map to drumming success!

[4015
12
