Here’s a simple, effective, 5-minute practice pad workout! It’s targeted towards beginners, but drummers of any skill level can benefit from this and there may be some sticking you haven’t encountered before. There are 5 patterns total which you do for 1 minute each! Issah Contractor with run through the entire 5-minute workout, so grab your pad and follow along!

Once you’ve memorized the stickings, I encourage you to try to push your tempos, try it at different dynamic levels (soft vs. loud), and practice it every day!

If you have a Drumeo P4 practice pad, try moving these exercises around the different surfaces! For example, try playing the first four notes on one surface and moving to another for the second bar. Or split up both hands completely! Who knows… You might just come up with some cool musical ideas you can move to the kit!
